Most Popular
Masai Mara National Reserve
Kenya’s crown jewel. Spanning over 1,500 sq km of open savannah, Masai Mara is the gold standard for Big Five safaris. The annual Great Migration — over 1.5 million wildebeest crossing the Mara River — is one of the natural world’s most astonishing events, best witnessed between July and October.
- Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhino
- Great Migration: July–October, Mara River crossings
- Maasai cultural village tours available
- Hot air balloon safaris at sunrise
Best for Photography
Amboseli National Park
Nowhere else in Africa can you photograph 1,000 free-roaming elephants with Africa’s highest peak — Mount Kilimanjaro at 5,895 metres — rising behind them. Amboseli is a wildlife photographer’s dream. June to October is the dry season sweet spot when animals gather around water sources.
- Iconic Kilimanjaro backdrop for photography
- 1,000+ elephants in resident herds
- Over 400 bird species, including flamingos
- Guided birding tours with expert rangers
Boat Safaris
Lake Naivasha
A two-hour drive from Nairobi, Lake Naivasha swaps the Land Rover for a boat. Hippos surface a few metres away, African fish eagles dive overhead, and giraffes graze along the shoreline. Crescent Island’s predator-free sanctuary allows you to walk among wildlife on foot — brilliant for families.
- Boat safaris with hippos and birds
- Crescent Island walking safari (predator-free)
- Popular honeymoon and family destination
- Available year-round from Nairobi
Rare Wildlife
Samburu National Reserve
Three hundred and fifty kilometres north of Nairobi, Samburu feels like a different country. The arid landscape is home to the Samburu Special Five — species found nowhere else in Kenya: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk. Best visited January to March.
- Samburu Special Five — exclusive rare species
- Authentic cultural interactions with Samburu people
- Luxury eco-lodges on the Ewaso Ng’iro River
- Less crowded than southern parks
Dramatic Landscape
Tsavo National Park
At over 22,000 sq km, Tsavo is Kenya’s largest national park. Its red-dust elephants — they roll in volcanic soil — are unlike anything you will see in other parks. Tsavo West’s Mzima Springs is a geological wonder: crystal-clear water bubbling through ancient lava fields with hippos resting underneath.
- Kenya’s largest national park — Tsavo East & West
- Famous red-dust elephants unique to Tsavo
- Mzima Springs, Shetani lava flow, volcanic hills
- Ideal for photography and eco-tourism
Off the Beaten Path
Meru National Park
Made famous by the true story of Elsa the lioness in Born Free, Meru is Kenya’s quieter, wilder side. Fewer vehicles, denser bush, and a diverse tapestry of forests, rivers, and open plains. African wild dogs — one of the continent’s most endangered predators — have been spotted here.
- Historic Born Free lion country
- African wild dogs and diverse predators
- Over 400 bird species for birdwatching tours
- Guided forest walks and nature trails
Highland Escape
Aberdare National Park
Cool, misty, and utterly unlike any savannah park — Aberdare sits at 2,500 to 4,000 metres above sea level. Leopards prowl riverine forests, elephants wade through highland marshes, and the rare bongo antelope moves silently through the trees. Tree lodges here offer night-time wildlife viewing over floodlit waterholes.
- Rare bongo antelope and highland leopards
- Stunning waterfalls and cloud forest scenery
- Iconic tree lodges for night wildlife viewing
- Cool highland climate — a refreshing escape
Mount Kenya National Park
Africa’s second-highest peak — 5,199 metres
Wildlife spotting on guided mountain treks
Camping, hiking, and adventure safaris
Unique alpine ecosystems and moorlands
Nairobi National Park
World’s only capital city national park
Endangered black rhinos and cheetahs
Ideal for half-day or full-day excursions
Educational programmes for families and schools
Lamu Archipelago
End your Kenya adventure where the savannah meets the sea. Lamu Old Town — a UNESCO World Heritage site — is one of East Africa’s best-preserved Swahili settlements. Dhow cruises, coral reefs, deserted beaches, and a pace of life that feels centuries removed from Nairobi’s bustle. Perfect paired with a safari.
- UNESCO World Heritage Lamu Old Town
- Traditional dhow sailing excursions
- Snorkelling on coral reefs
- Ideal safari + coast combination package
Featured Safari Experience
The Great Migration: Nature's Greatest Show on Earth
Between July and October, over 1.5 million wildebeest and 200,000 zebras pour across the Tanzanian border into Masai Mara in search of fresh grass. The Mara River crossings — where crocodiles wait in the shallows — are the most dramatic scenes in the natural world. This is the centrepiece of our Masai Mara safari packages from Nairobi.
